Alias S4: 03 The Awful Truth

This episode shows that they really are going back to the old formula. I mean, I wasn't even sure what their overarching purpose was this episode. They had to infiltrate something, stop something, save the world maybe? I'm not too sure.

The episode was entertaining though. I really like the ridiculousness of the opening theme (showing just how many costumes they dress Jennifer Garner in). They have pretty much dropped all but one main continuity of storyline. So it's gone from being overcomplicating fluff to now straightforward fluff. But at least it's fun fluff.

Also, the birthday scene early on in the episode was exactly what was missing from the show for so long. It's too much to show them all in spy-mode all the time. Show them interact and be friends, let us get to know who they still are. Prove to me that I haven't lost touch with the characters.

Maybe if they get a few more storylines going, and add a few more character moments, this season may actually get on track.
