Alias S4: 01-02 Authorized Personnel Only

The season opener for Alias. I'm uncertain of where this show is going. Definitely they are trying to go back to basics, and the show is almost exactly where it was at the beginning of the series. Irina Derevko's end of storyline was disappointing, and very little has weight for me in the show. I used to really care about the characters and what happened to them. This is the only time that I have ever felt so much for the characters of a show, only to grow bored of them later. I watched a re-run of a Buffy episode today, just a filler episode, and I had far more emotional response from that unremarkable episode than from the season premiere of Alias. I will stick with this show, but I miss the first seasons of Alias, where they motivated the character interactions, especially with her friends like Will Tippin. Now it's just a series of action and plot with very little character.
